Our Stewardship Campaign for 2024 is “Walk in Love”! Ephesians 5:1-2 calls us to be imitators of God and “walk in love” as Christ loved us and gave Himself as an offering.
We invite you to share your thoughts about how the people of St. Peter’s walk in love, and how you hope to see St. Peter’s care for those who need us in the coming year. Please email us at saintpetersbettendorf@gmail.com with your thoughts. Please indicate if you would like your response shared with the congregation or not.
Reflections from Saint Peter’s
I have been a member of St. Peter’s since 2009. I have witnessed changes over the years, but one thing has been amazingly consistent: the generosity of our members. Regardless of the size of our congregation, we have always provided for each other and for our community. Despite the fact that St. Peter’s has, like many Christian congregations, grown smaller and older, we continue to give freely of our time, money and friendship.
The Diocese of Iowa has chosen Courageous Faith as it’s theme for 2025. In the coming year I hope to see St. Peter’s continue its tradition of generosity in light of this theme. I hope to see us give with optimism and hope that we will continue to do wonderful things. The form of our generosity may have to change; this is to expected. The spirit with which we give be joyous. -Carolyn, Vestry Member
“[Saint Peter’s] helps each other in our time of need, such as poor health, [helping those with] trouble traveling, serving on the Vestry, helping with the community meal, and volunteering in local service missions. [I would like] to work with the other churches in the community.” -Ghada Hamdan-Allen
“I have been coming to Saint Peter’s since 1985. I remember well the first time I came- I was expecting my first child and Steve Snider made me feel so welcomed. So many people at Saint Peter’s have walked in that same love over the years; whether it’s been caring for our parishioners or our community neighbors in need. I hope we can continue serving our neighbors in our established ways like the Community Meal and assisting families during the holidays, as well as be open to opportunities where we can make a difference. We may be a small congregation, but we remain mighty in our beliefs and desire to reach out to others in need.” -Kitty McAndrews, Vestry
